WHAT IS JOURNEY AIR'S WEIGHT CAPACITY?
The Journey Air can carry a person weighing up to 240 lbs.
DOES IT COME IN A LARGER SIZE?
The Journey Air is available only in one size. See the Product Specifications section for specific dimensions. The maximum user weight limit is 240 lbs.
I ONLY HAVE ONE GOOD HAND. IS JOURNEY AIR FOR ME?
The Journey Air is a one-handed, joystick-controlled chair. The joystick can even be installed on either side of the chair.
IS THE JOURNEY AIR CHAIR RIGHT FOR ME IF I AM HANDICAPPED OR DISABLED?
While many people use the Journey Air Chair for many different reasons, the Journey Air Chair is a personal electric vehicle. The Journey Air Chair may not be for you if you are fully restricted to a sitting position. You must be able to get in and out of the chair.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE JOURNEY AIR CHAIR?
The Journey Air Chair will require only a few simple steps out of the box before you can use it. Included is the battery, charger, footrests, anti-tippers and joystick.
WILL MEDICARE HELP PAY FOR MY JOURNEY AIR CHAIR?
Unfortunately, the Journey Air Chair is not covered by Medicare at this time.
WHAT ACCESSORIES ARE AVAILABLE?
Accessories such as a cup/bottle holder, cane holder, extra thick seat cushion, spare batteries and spare tires are available.
WILL THE JOURNEY AIR CHAIR FIT UNDER A DESK OR TABLE?
Yes, the Journey Air Chair will fit under a desk and table. You have to flip up the armrests and slide right under.
CAN I TAKE MY JOURNEY AIR CHAIR ON AN AIRPLANE?
Yes, and here are a few things you need to know before taking your Journey Air Chair on a plane. Your Journey Air Chair should qualify as free baggage with most airlines, but you can call your airline prior to your trip to make sure.
DOES THE JOURNEY AIR CHAIR HAVE REVERSE MODE?
Yes, the Journey Air Chair does have a powered reverse.
CAN I MANUALLY PUSH THE JOURNEY AIR CHAIR?
The Journey Air Chair can be pushed about easily when there is no rider in it; however, it is not specifically intended that seated users be pushed around in wheelchair fashion by others as an alternative to the chair's foremost purpose: a powered self-driving experience.
IS THE FOOTPLATE ADJUSTABLE?
The swinging footplate is not adjustable; however, the Journey Air Chair is designed to accommodate people of a wide variety of sizes.
IS THE SEAT OR BACKREST ADJUSTABLE?
The seat and backrest are not adjustable. Some Journey Air Chair owners with special comfort needs have chosen to add an additional cushion.
CAN THE JOURNEY AIR CHAIR BE USED ON HEAVILY PADDED OR THICK CARPET?
Customers that are close to the Journey Air Chair's weight limit of 240 lbs may find that the Journey Air Chair is a little more difficult to use on very thick or heavily padded carpets when operating on low speed.
HOW LONG WILL THE BATTERY LAST ON A SINGLE CHARGE?
Depending upon usage (speed, weight, etc.) the Journey Air Chair's battery will last up to ten miles of use.
HOW LONG WILL THE BATTERY LAST BEFORE NEEDING TO REPLACE IT?
The short answer is it depends on the usage and conditions. The battery on average, lasts for several years for many of our customers.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CHARGE THE BATTERY?
Charging the battery takes 6-8 hours or less, depending on the level of power already used. With a range of up to ten miles, most owners rarely run the battery all the way down in a single day.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED TO CHARGE THE BATTERY?
There is a battery indicator located on the control panel that tells you the battery life.
IS THE BATTERY INCLUDED IN THE WEIGHT?
Yes, 37.5 pounds includes the weight of the battery.
WILL THE CHARGER WORK IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES?
Yes. The charger will operate on 100V or 220V, but you will need an inexpensive plug converter to fit the outlets of your foreign destination.
